The coin depicts the image of the ancient Odeon of Pafos, a small amphitheater built with limestone in the second century and is still used for theatrical and musical performances. The venue was also used for a multitude of events within the Pafos 2017 program.

Ramiro I of Asturias ordered it to be built as a royal palace as part of a larger complex that also incorporated the nearby church of San Miguel de Lillo, 100 meters away. It was completed in 848.
