The currency of Panama is named after the Spanish conquistador. This complete set of Panamanian balboa coins is the first containing a bimetallic coin. The denomination corresponds to the denomination of the US dollar and, unusually, is indicated exclusively words on all coins. The reverse depicts portraits of a freedom fighter from the indigenous peoples of Urraca (c. 1490–1531), feminists Sarah Sotillo Guillén (1900–1961) and Nunez de Balboa.
