The coin is dedicated to a couple of Estonian farmers who symbolize the most important and most typical social archetype in the history of the Estonian state and are inextricably linked with the desire for independence and sovereignty. Independent small farming families have played a very important role in Estonian history. This status gave people a high position in the hierarchy of the local society. Estonian farms began to be massively bought up in the middle of the 19th century, and the peasant family became one of the driving economic and social forces of Estonian society.<\/p>\n
The center of the coin depicts a farming couple who ran the farm, made decisions, owned it and were responsible for it. They are surrounded by a swirl of outbuildings, pets, creaky garden gates and a well. All of them are connected by an unbreakable thread. A farm is a family, home, work, love and mindset, and an independent Estonian farm was the foundation of an independent Estonian state.
