\nThe leopard is one of five living species of the genus Panthera. It has pale yellowish to dark golden fur with dark spots. The leopard has the largest distribution of all wild cats, widespread in Africa, the Caucasus and Asia, although populations are declining. The leopard is a frequently used motif in heraldry.
