In the 16th century, captivated by tales of a king clad in gold offering treasures to a sacred lake, Spanish conquistadors set out on a desperate quest to find El Dorado, the Golden Man. Francisco Pizarro’s expedition in 1532 led to the capture of Atahualpa, the last Inca emperor, and the hope of finding fabulous treasures. But the city of El Dorado remained elusive, forever fueling the myth of untold riches hidden deep in the jungle. <\/p>\n
