The 2026 edition of the Netherlands annual sets kicks off a new five-year series dedicated to Dutch myths and folktales. These stories, passed down through generations, are filled with mystery, warnings, and supernatural events. From 2026 to 2030, the series will feature five famous Dutch legends: the Basilisk of Utrecht, the White Women, the Flying Dutchman, the Robbers, and the Lady of Stavoren. <\/p>\n
The first issue of the series, dedicated to the year 2026, tells the story of the Basilisk of Utrecht, a legendary dragon-like creature. The set’s artwork features charming illustrations of the little prince and the fairy-tale basilisk, lending the issue a light, fairy-tale feel. <\/p>\n
The set contains all eight euro coin denominations – from 1 cent to 2 euros – in BU quality. The coins were minted using a new dies, giving them a particularly bright and shiny appearance. All coins are presented in original packaging designed by the Royal Mint. <\/p>\n
