Frigatebirds are a family of seabirds called Fregatidae that are found in all tropical and subtropical oceans. <\/span>Five modern species are classified into one genus, Fregata. <\/span>All have predominantly black plumage, a long, deeply forked tail and long hooked beaks. <\/span>Females have a white underbelly, while males have a distinctive red throat sac, which they inflate during the breeding season to attract females. <\/span>Their wings are long and pointed, and can reach 2.3 meters (7.5 feet) in length, which is the largest wing-to-body ratio of any bird.<\/span><\/p>\n
