In 2002, the Belgian franc became part of<\/p>\n
European history with the introduction of the euro.<\/p>\n
This set of coins is special for several reasons.<\/p>\n
First, it includes the last 50 centimes,<\/p>\n
as well as coins of 1 and 5 francs of the Belgian currency before the euro.<\/p>\n
It also contains, as the only 10 franc coin,<\/p>\n
and the last coin of 25 centimes minted before 1975.<\/p>\n
In addition, the set is unique in that each of the different coins<\/p>\n
exists with French or Dutch designations.<\/p>\n
Among the motifs is the monogram of King Baudouin,<\/p>\n
traditional portrait of a miner with a protective lamp,<\/p>\n
as well as portraits of King Baudouin and King Albert II.<\/p>\n
