Jomo Kenyatta’s reputation has gone beyond Kenya<\/p>\n
and he was awarded the honorary title of Mzi,<\/p>\n
which means “great old man”.<\/p>\n
He studied in London and also in Moscow<\/p>\n
and played an important role in gaining Kenya<\/p>\n
independence in 1963, and a year later became the country’s first president.<\/p>\n
Kenyatta’s name is not the origin of the state’s name.<\/p>\n
