The official set of commemorative coins of the National Bank of Ukraine imprinted the national symbols of Ukraine in three coins: coat of arms and roots, flag and soul, anthem and motto.<\/p>\n
These symbols embody the national idea and reflect the historical continuity of the state. Ukrainian state symbols tell millions of Ukrainians about the glory of their ancestors. The trident is a symbol of the Kyiv state of Volodymyr the Great and symbolizes the continuity of the historical development of the Ukrainian people. The song “Ukraine Has Not Yet Died” has become a powerful symbol of Ukrainians’ struggle for independence over a century and a half, and is now the national anthem. The combination of blue and yellow, which has long been used by Ukrainians to denote their identity and which means clear skies and a wheat field, was officially approved by the Ukrainian People’s Republic as the Ukrainian flag for the first time.<\/p>\n
