Il Krugerrand \u00e8 la moneta d’argento pi\u00f9 popolare prodotta dalla zecca sudafricana in Sudafrica. Il nome deriva dal cognome dell’allora presidente del Sudafrica – Paul Kruger. La seconda parte del nome “rand” \u00e8 il nome della valuta sudafricana. La moneta \u00e8 stata emessa per la prima volta nel 1967 e da allora il suo design non \u00e8 cambiato molto.<\/p>\n
La moneta d’oro Krugerrand \u00e8 coniata in oro a 22 carati e pesa 16,97 grammi, di cui 15,55 grammi di oro puro (mezza oncia troy). Oltre all’oro, la moneta contiene anche rame, che conferisce al Krugerrand la caratteristica tonalit\u00e0 rossastra che lo distingue dalle altre monete d’oro. Questa lega di oro e rame non solo rende la moneta visivamente unica, ma la rende anche pi\u00f9 resistente e meno soggetta a graffi e usura.
