The colored collection coin is dedicated to the German statesman and first Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Konrad Adenauer (1876-1967), in honor of the 150th anniversary of his birth.

Adenauer advocated a socially oriented market economy, political freedom, and the protection of human rights, while maintaining a strong anti-communist stance. He actively promoted the strengthening of Germany’s ties with France, Great Britain, and the United States, and supported European integration and West Germany’s participation in NATO. After the Nazis came to power in 1933, Adenauer resigned from his positions, categorically rejecting Hitler’s policies and National Socialism. After the end of World War II, he was again appointed mayor of Cologne, then chaired the Parliamentary Council and became the first chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The coloring of the coin was made by a private company. This product is not an official bank issue and is not a legal tender.
