They are among the first to emerge from the snow in March-April, distinguished by their white, drooping flowers with six petals. Snowdrops are common in Central and Southern Europe, Asia Minor, and the Caucasus, preferring shady, sunny locations, broadleaf forests, and mountainous areas.
