Paul Keres is one of the strongest chess players of 1930-60. Three-time champion of the USSR (1947, 1950, 1951), four-time champion of Estonia (1935, 1942, 1943, 1945), Honored Master of Sports of the USSR (1948). Shared 1st and 2nd places at the 1938 AVRO tournament. His image could be seen on the five-kroon banknote.
