Personal flower varieties of North Korean leaders

In honor of the “eternal president” of North Korea

Kim Ilsung and his son and successor Kim Jong Il

own varieties were grown

orchids: Kimilsungiya and Kimjongiliya.

They are presented at the annual festival.

Kimjongilia was grown in such a way

so that it blooms on February 16, the birthday of Kim Jong Il.

This is the complete first set of Third Won coins.

While the obverse features the national emblem of North Korea,

the reverse depicts two azalea flowers, Siebold’s magnolia,

which is the national flower of North Korea,

Kimjongiliya and Kimilsungiya.
