On the obverse of the banknote is the Vincennes Castle, which was built for the kings of France in the XIV-XVII centuries in the Vincennes Forest, on the site of a hunting estate of the XII century.

The zero-euro backside depicts the best-known European architecture and art objects: (left to right) Brandenburg Gate, Big Ben, Eiffel Tower, Colosseum, Sagrada Familia, Manneken Pis and Mona Lisa.
