On the obverse side of the banknote is the Technological Museum in Sinsheim – a museum in the city of Sinsheim, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It was opened in 1981. Today it has more than 3,000 exhibits on an area of over 50,000 m². The museum is visited annually by over a million visitors, for whom it is open 365 days a year.

The zero-euro backside depicts the best-known European architecture and art objects: (left to right) Brandenburg Gate, Big Ben, Eiffel Tower, Colosseum, Sagrada Familia, Manneken Pis and Mona Lisa.
