On the obverse side of the banknote is the Zoological Park in Bojnice – the oldest and first most visited zoological park in Slovakia. It was opened on April 1, 1955, now it covers an area of 41 hectares, of which the exhibition part is 20 hectares. The territory of the zoo is located in the recreation area of the central Slovak spa town of Bojnice.
The zero-euro backside depicts the best-known European architecture and art objects: (left to right) Brandenburg Gate, Big Ben, Eiffel Tower, Colosseum, Sagrada Familia, Manneken Pis and Mona Lisa.
