On the occasion of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, Monnaie de Paris pays homage to this renowned international competition with a collection dedicated to sport, its values, athletes and the heritage of the host country. Olympic and Paralympic Games are celebrated.

This coin is dedicated to such a sport as track cycling. This Olympic discipline combines several competitions that take place on the velodrome. The velodrome has a 250-meter track and sloped turns. Bicycles designed for this discipline do not have brakes.

The reverse side of the series shows a view of Paris, where the Seine looks like an athletics track. The Eiffel Tower rises above the city and illuminates the competition. The PARIS2024 emblem completes this composition.
