1/4 Euro France 2024 – Paris 2024 Paralympics – Paralympic Athletics

On the occasion of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, Monnaie de Paris pays homage to this renowned international competition with a collection dedicated to sport, its values, athletes and the heritage of the host country. Olympic and Paralympic Games are celebrated.
Athletics was one of the first of the eight sports to be added to the Paralympic program at the 1960 Rome Games. It covers a wide range of athletics events (excluding steeplechase and walking), jumping (excluding pole vault), throwing (excluding hammer throw) and of course the blue riband road event: the marathon (since 1984).
The reverse side of the series depicts a view of Paris, where the Seine River appears as an athletics track. The Eiffel Tower rises above the city and illuminates the competition. The PARIS2024 emblem completes this composition.
