1 dollar USA 2018 – Innovation Seria INTRO (G.Washington signature)
€6.00
The first in a series of innovations, marking a program to issue $ 1 coins that celebrate important inventions and innovations by individuals and groups of people from all states, territories and the District of Columbia.
The coin pays tribute to President George Washington, who, on July 31, 1790, granted Samuel Hopkins the first U.S. patent to develop a process for the production of potash, an ingredient in fertilizers. Since then, millions of patents have been granted, a testament to the entrepreneurial spirit of the American nation and the remarkable innovations and discoveries it discovers.
The obverse of the coins of this series is the same of all coins od the seria: it shows the Statue of Liberty, the designation of the denomination “1 $”, the official motto of the country “In God We Trust” (“We Trust in God”), as well as the initials of the engraver (Phoebe Hemphill) and the artist (Justin Koontz) … Since 2019, an additional sign has also been placed under the motto. The year of minting, the mint mark and the motto “E pluribus unum” (“One of many”) are stamped on the edge.
All subsequent coins will be issued in the same order in which the states entered the union. In addition, there will be a coin dedicated to the District of Columbia, followed by innovation in the Territories.
The program provides for the issuance of the following coins:
