Collectors appreciate dollar coins with U.S. presidents, issued in a limited series with a face value of one dollar. The obverse of each coin features a portrait of the President of the United States. The reverse features a minted figure of the Statue of Liberty surrounded by the inscription “United States of America”.
The program started on January 1, 2007. Each year, once every three months, 1 coin was issued under the program. The obverse of each coin features a portrait of one of the U.S. Presidents – in chronological order of their office. The U.S. Mint called this action the “Presidential $1 Coin Program”.
