10 euro Germany 2023 – In the service of society: Fire brigade

The coin is the second in a series of five parts in the service of society, which will issue one coin each year between 2022 and 2026. The series emphasizes the particular importance of groups of professions that are necessary for the functioning of our society and the life of each of us. This is an expression of respect and appreciation for people who consistently act in the interests of the common good. The coins of the series will have a polymer ring in the color characteristic of the corresponding professional group.
The second coin in this series is dedicated to firefighting workers.
Obverse: Fire brigade in full protective gear. In addition to the wall of fire, the design incorporates aspects of calling the fire brigade: someone who has just been rescued is being looked after, and a distinctive revolving staircase is set against the backdrop of the city skyline. The composition emphasizes the dynamics of the fire department in action. The word “FEUERWEHR” (FIRE Brigade) emphasizes the overall design.
Reverse: common to all coins of this series. Image of an eagle framed by the words “BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND”, denomination of 10 euros, year of issue 2023, twelve stars of Europe.
On the smooth edge of the coin is the inscription: “IM DENST DER GESELLSCHAFT” (IN THE SERVICE OF THE SOCIETY).
