To celebrate San Marino’s participation in the 2025 Osaka World Expo, a 10-euro commemorative collector’s coin was unveiled. The design of the coin was first shown on 26 February 2025 during an official audience with the Most Honourable Captains Regent, as part of the presentation of the San Marino delegation and pavilion at the exhibition.
The San Marino Post Office decided to mark this important international event by issuing a coin in fior di conio quality (high mintage quality), thus highlighting the strong and historical ties between the Republic of San Marino and Japan.
The reverse of the coin depicts a branch of blossoming sakura, a symbol of Japanese culture. The petals are adorned with a pink hue, which serves as a subtle tribute to the Land of the Rising Sun.
