The first flight into space in the history of mankind took place on April 12, 1961. Yu.A. Gagarin made one revolution around the Earth, lasting 108 minutes, after which he landed safely near Saratov.
On the obverse in the center of the disc of the coin against the background of the starry sky is an image of a launching space rocket, on the left is an image of a planet, a circular inscription: “50 YEARS OF THE FIRST HUMAN FLIGHT INTO SPACE”, located on a wide strip along the edge. On the reverse, the denomination is indicated in the middle (the number “10”, under it the word “RUBLE”). Inside the number “0” alternately when changing the angle of inclination, the number “10” and the word “RUB” are viewed. Along the circumference at the top is the inscription “BANK OF RUSSIA”, at the bottom is the year of minting – “2011”, on the left is a laurel branch, on the right is oak. At the bottom right there is a sign of the St. Petersburg Mint (consists of the letters “SPMD”).
