The old temples of Agar Kim, 3600–3200. BC, are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which contains the largest stone megaliths among others found in the Maltese Islands.

The obverse of the 2 euro commemorative coin depicts one of the walls of the ancient temple of Hajar-Kim. In the upper part there is an inscription “HAĠAR QIM TEMPLES 3600-3200 BC”, and at the bottom of the coin there is the name of the country “MALTA” and the year of minting “2017”.
