Magdeburg Cathedral is considered one of the most ancient cathedrals of the Roman Empire, built in the Gothic style, as well as the largest and most majestic temple in Germany (its height is 104 m). The temple was founded by Emperor Otto I in 937, originally it was in the form of an ordinary church. But already in 968 it was rebuilt and elevated to the status of an imperial cathedral. After his death, the emperor was buried on the grounds of the temple.
