Willem I (August 24, 1772 – December 12, 1843) – first King of the Netherlands, Duke of Luxembourg from March 16 to June 9, 1815, first Grand Duke of Luxembourg from June 9, 1815 to October 7, 1840; Prince of Orange-Nassau (under the name William VI), Duke of Limburg.
The coin is noteworthy in that it has the marks of the Dutch mint on either side of the year of issue: on the left is the bridge (mark of the engraver Stephan Satijn), on the right is the Caduceus.
