2 euro Luxembourg 2019 – 100th anniversary of universal suffrage (Bridge mintmark)

On 8 May 1919, all adults aged 21 and over with Luxembourg citizenship received the right to vote. The constitutional change removed any barriers to potential voters no longer limited by their wealth, age, social class or gender.

The coin is noteworthy in that it has the marks of the Dutch mint on either side of the year of issue: on the left is the bridge (mark of the engraver Stephan Satijn), on the right is the Caduceus.
