The coin is dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of Hendrik van Oranje-Nassau, the Prince of the Netherlands and the Governor of Luxembourg.
Hendrik was born on July 13, 1820 in the Sustdejk Palace, Barn, the Netherlands. He became the third son and child in the family of the Crown Prince of the Netherlands and Luxembourg, Willem and his wife Anna Pavlovna, daughter of the Russian Emperor Paul I. The residence of Henri was Walferdeng Palace, in which the prince died in 1879. Now the palace is part of the University of Luxembourg.
