World peace, or peace on Earth, is the concept of an ideal state of peace within and between all people and nations on planet Earth. Different cultures, religions, philosophies and organizations have different ideas about how such a situation could arise.

Various religious and secular organizations have the stated goal of achieving world peace through solutions to human rights, technology, education, engineering, medicine, or diplomacy used as a cessation of all forms of hostilities. Since 1945, the United Nations and the five permanent members of its Security Council (China, France, Russia, Great Britain and the United States) have acted with the goal of resolving conflicts without war or declaration of war. However, since then the countries have entered into numerous military conflicts.

The word “peace” is featured on the coin’s radial design in 16 different EU national languages.
