Saint Teresa of Calcutta is a Catholic nun, the founder of the female monastic congregation of sisters – missionaries of love, serving the poor and sick. In 2003 she was beatified by the Catholic Church, in 2016 she was canonized as a saint. On the coin, Mother Teresa holds an Indian child in her arms. This image reflects all the love, commitment and dedication that Mother Teresa gave to alleviate the suffering of “the poorest of the poor.”
