2 euros San Marino 2025 – Giubileo (Holy Year)

32.00 includes 24% VAT

A Holy Year (Giubileo) is a special period in the Catholic tradition that the Vatican celebrates every 25 years or on special occasions. It is a time of spiritual renewal, pilgrimage and indulgences for believers.

Commemorative coins dedicated to the Holy Year are minted in limited editions and become collector’s items. San Marino, being an independent republic, is historically linked to the Catholic tradition and regularly issues thematic coins reflecting significant events.

The reverse depicts an allegorical scene. A holy woman with a staff and a book, symbolizing faith, leads a child behind her – the personification of a pilgrim. In the background, part of a staircase is visible, symbolizing spiritual ascent, as well as a bright star indicating the way. The lines in the image reflect light and divine enlightenment.
On the left is the inscription “SAN MARINO”, on the right is the Latin inscription “IVBILÆVM 2025” (Anniversary 2025). The coin also features the mint mark and the designer’s initials.
