2 pounds UK 2022 – 25th Anniversary of the 2 pounds coin

The 2 pound coin was the first coin made in bimetal. For technical reasons, the 1997 coins with the image of Queen Elizabeth II did not enter circulation until June 1998. The first issue was designed by Bruce Rushin. The design of the coin should be interpreted as follows: the transition from the Iron Age (outer ring) through the industrial revolution to the age of the Internet and new technologies. The reverse shows nineteen interlocking mechanisms. Since this is an odd number, the mechanism could not turn, the only exception was the Möbius strip.
