2000 forints Hungary 2017 – 500th Anniversary of the Reformation of the Kingdom of Hungary

The Reformation in the Kingdom of Hungary began around 1520 and led to the conversion of most Hungarians from Catholicism to the Protestant denomination by the end of the 16th century. Hungary was a regional power in Central Europe at the end of the 15th century. It was a multiethnic compound monarchy with a significant non-Catholic, predominantly Greek Orthodox population.

Design: dove as a symbol of the Holy Spirit and the Bible with the letters Alpha and Omega, the first and last letters of the classical Greek alphabet, the symbol of the beginning and the end.
