Tyrannosaurs lived at the end of the Cretaceous period (68 – 66 million years ago) in western North America.
Tyrannosaurus was a bipedal predator with a massive skull that was balanced by a long, stiff tail. Tyrannosaurus was more than 4 meters high and weighed up to 8 tons. Tyrannosaurus Rex had the strongest bite of any creature that has ever lived on Earth. He could crush a modern car in his jaw without damaging his teeth or skull.
This is the first 50p coin in the Dinosaurs series. A total of 3 coins are planned for the series.
