50 pennies UK 2018 – Paddington Bear Buckingham Palace
€4.00
The Paddington Bear at Buckingham Palace is the second of two Paddington Bear fifty pence coins issued in 2018.
Paddington Bear was first published in 1958. It was created by Michael Bond.
Paddington has a history with Buckingham Palace as that is where Mr Gruber once took him to watch the changing of the guard. Paddington could not see beyond the crown, but luckily he was invited inside the gate to look. The British fifty pence coin is a seven-sided coin formed as an equilateral-curve heptagon.
The obverse depicts a Paddington bear in front of Buckingham Palace. It was designed by Royal Mint artist David Knapton. The reverse depicts the fifth portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
