Paddington Bear was first published in 1958. It was created by Michael Bond. It was at the station that the story of the famous teddy bear began. The coin was designed by Royal Mint designer David Knapton. The British fifty pence coin is a seven-sided coin formed as an equilateral-curve heptagon.
The obverse depicts a Paddington Bear at Paddington Station. The reverse depicts the fifth portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
