The banknote is dedicated to the restoration of Lithuania’s financial system in the first years of independence. It symbolizes the transition from the Soviet currency to a national one.

The reverse of the banknote depicts two wolves, a symbol of Lithuania’s strength and nature.

The obverse features the denomination “500 Talonas” and a graphic ornament executed in the style typical of talonas.
