The set consists of two banknotes – 50 and 100 Mexican pesos. The banknotes are part of the “Historical Identity and Natural Heritage” series.

The front of the 100-peso banknote features a portrait of Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, a prominent 17th-century writer, poet, and philosopher, as well as the Colegio de San Ildefonso, a historic educational institution linked to Mexico’s cultural and artistic heritage. The back features the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve.
