May Revolution in Argentina 1810
beginning of the independence movement phase in
Latin America. The famous symbol of the revolution
“Sol de Mayo” (May Sun) goes back to Inca mythology,
in which he denoted the sun god Inti. He was
already depicted on the first coin of Argentina in 1813,
which is depicted on the 1 peso coin of this set.
