The obverse features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
The reverse depicts a tuatara (reptile),
Maori koruru mask, wood carving among the koru patterns,
HMS Endeavor (Cook’s sailboat) in front of Taranaki volcano,
kiwi (flightless bird), silver fern leaves
and a great white heron.
