Poland is located in the center of Europe. The Polish zloty has been used in Poland since the 15th century. Coins in denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 groszy and 1, 2 and 5 zlotys.
In the last years of the Iron Curtain, the Polish currency also experienced a crisis. Shortly after the first parliamentary elections of the Third Polish Republic, hyperinflation reached its peak in 1990. This is a complete set of the first coins after the monetary reform. The new Polish zloty was officially introduced on January 1, 1995, although some coins were minted from earlier years. The obverse features a crowned Polish eagle for the first time since 1944. The reverse shows denominations and oak leaves in various designs.
