The only national in Slovenia

The biodiversity of Slovenia is

one of the highest in Europe.

The diverse landscape is characteristic of both the Alps,

as well as for the Mediterranean coast.

An exceptionally large part of the country

is under nature protection.

This is the only set of Slovenian tolar coins

between independence in 1991

and the introduction of the euro in 2007.

It pays tribute to the local wildlife.

The obverse shows the denominations.

The reverse depicts an olm, a long-eared owl,

carniolian honey bee, river trout,

barn swallow and alpine ibex.
