Eswatini is a small landlocked country
between South Africa and Mozambique.
This complete set of Lilangeni coins is dedicated to
unique nature of the country and its two joint
heads of state: the king and the queen mother,
who have mainly performed representative functions since
how her son came of age in 1986.
Her title Ndlovukati literally means “Great Elephant”.
The obverse of the coins depicts a portrait of King Mswati III.
The reverse depicts arum lilies, sugarcane,
elephant, national emblem and queen mother Ntombi Twala.
In addition to round coins, the set includes one dodecahedral
and three scalloped coins.
