Notable personalities in the history of the Republic of China

This taiwan dollar coin set

dedicated to three prominent people in the history of the country.

Mona Rudao (1880–1930) was chief of the indigenous Sidiq people

and became famous as a freedom fighter against Japanese colonization

during the Mush Incident of 1930.

It is depicted on the obverse of the 20 yuan bimetallic coin.

Others depict the first president of the republic, Sun Yat-sen (1866–1925)

and President and military leader Chiang Kai-shek (1887–1975).

The reverse depicts denominations, canoes of the indigenous people of the Tau

and two hidden images with plum blossom (national flower)

or ruyi scepter,

as well as denominations in Chinese or Arabic numerals.
