The southernmost island nation in the Caribbean
not only possesses unique natural resources,
but also has a diverse culture.
The national
musical instrument – steel drum.
It was invented in the 1930s and originally
was built from old oil barrels.
In addition to steel drums, the reverse depicts
hummingbird, a large bird of paradise brought from New Guinea,
hibiscus flower, chaconia flower (national flower)
and a banana palm with the FAO logo.
The obverse features the national coat of arms.
