Complete set from the country of the first coins
The oldest known coins in the world
were minted in the 7th century BC in the region of Lydia,
in the west of modern Turkey.
About 2600 years later the art of coinage
at the crossroads of Europe and Asia is almost incorrigible.
The color of the two bimetallic coins in this set
still resembles the gold-silver alloys of the first coins.
The main motif on all obverses is
image of the founder of the state, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.
The reverse shows denominations, snowdrops,
mythological-religious tree of life, ornaments and the Bosphorus bridge.
– Circulating set of coins from Turkey
– Cradle of coinage
– Bimetal coins included
