Estonian Euro Starter Kit

The euro starter set was released in Estonia during the country’s transition to the single European currency. It consisted of a set of euro coins of all denominations, collected in a single package for a total of €12.79. It included coins from 1 cent to 2 euro, featuring the national Estonian design—a map—as well as a commemorative medal with the inscription “Hello, Euro.”

The euro starter set was designed to allow Estonians to receive euro coins in advance and become accustomed to the new currency before the official switchover. It also helped avoid a shortage of change in the first days after the currency changeover.

Today, such a set has more of a collector’s value and is a memento of the era of currency change.
