Finland 2 euro 2020 – 100 Anniversary of University of Turku

The coin is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the University of Turku – the second largest university in Finland after the University of Helsinki. Located in the south-west of the country, in the city of Turku. It was founded in 1920. In 2012, according to the Times magazine, the university was among the top 100 best European universities. Graduates of the University of Turku were the future presidents of Finland, Mauno Koivisto and Sauli Niinistö. At the moment, more than 40,000 students study at the university; more than 3,000 professors teach.

The circulation of coins is 800,000 pcs.
